IS YOUR SCHOOL READY TO TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE?
Our CAP IT campaign is a fun way FOR YOUR School to get involved and support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd by allowing pupils to wear a baseball cap or hat of their choice any day uring OCTOBER.
How it Works
In return for a donation to the Hospice, pupils can attend school wearing their cap. This can be as simple or as extreme as you allow. The school that raises the most money will win a trophy.
What you will get
Once you register we will send you a complete resource pack.
- 2 x A4 promotional posters about our CAP IT Campaign for you to advertise the event to the pupils.
- Hospice of the Good Shepherd Schools Fundraising leaflets.
- On some occasions we are also able to provide a member of our Hospice staff who are able to give a short talk about our care services to the pupils.
- Following the event each school will receive a certificate stating the total amount raised.

SILLY SOCKS DAY

Silly Socks week is a fun way FOR YOUR Nursery/Pre-school Group to get involved and support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd by allowing the children to “wear silly socks”.
How it Works
In return for a donation to the Hospice, children will come along to Nursery wearing “silly socks”. This can be as simple as wearing odd socks, multi-coloured socks, extremely long socks etc.
The group that raises the most money will win a trophy.
What you will get
Once you register we will send you a complete resource pack to help ensure you have everything that you need to get started
- 2 x A4 promotional posters about Silly Sock Day for you to advertise the event to parents/guardians.
- Hospice of the Good Shepherd Fundraising leaflets.
- On some occasions we are also able to provide a member of staff to bring along PAWZ, the Hospice mascot to come and meet the children.
- Following the event each nursery will receive a certificate stating the total amount raised.

Visiting Primary Schools
Maes Edwin Primary School in Flint Mountain, Flintshire invited our Fundraisers to talk to the children about fundraising and the work of the Hospice. The morning proved to be a success by engaging the pupils in an interactive session. This resulted in raising awareness of Hospice care amongst the pupils and encouraged creative ideas for future school fundraising.
Further to this session, John Plunkett, Head Teacher at the school visited the Hospice to take a look around and see the services that the Hospice provides. Following his visit we arranged for the pupils to come to the Hospice and sing for the day patients. Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon and the children left with further enthusiasm for their local Hospice.
Community Fundraiser. Helen Higginson is now looking to working closely with the school and bringing some of the children’s wonderful ideas to life.
We have a new Hospice Mascot called PAWZ who can come along with our Schools Fundraiser, Helen to give an interactive session about the Hospice to the pupils.
